Katherine Bonsi is a Tokyo-based designer who founded kimonofūkei after graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design. Her work highlights the craftsmanship and versatility of vintage sourced Oshima Tsumugi and Shiro Oshima kimonos.

Rather than allowing these textiles to disappear quietly, she aims to preserve the meticulous and expert craftsmanship of handmade kimonos while breathing renewed life into the pieces.
